Our Holiday Angels Page

In Loving Memory of
Antonio Giovanne Garvey
and all of his loved ones who are also angels...

THE EVERLASTING LIGHT
THOSE WE LOVE MUST SOMEDAY PASS BEYOND OUR PRESENT SIGHT....
MUST LEAVE US AND THE WORLD WE KNOW
WITHOUT THEIR RADIANT LIGHT.
BUT WE KNOW THAT LIKE A CANDLE,
THEIR LOVELY LIGHT WILL SHINE.
TO BRIGHTEN UP ANOTHER PLACE MORE PERFECT...
MORE DIVINE AND IN THE REALM OF HEAVEN,
WHERE THEY SHINE SO WARM AND BRIGHT
OUR LOVED ONES LIVE FOREVER MORE IN GOD'S ETERNAL LIGHT.
MAY I FIND COMFORT TO KNOW THAT MY LOVED ONES
ARE SAFE IN GOD'S CARE
AND THAT I HAVE FRIENDS AND SUPPORT EVERYWHERE.
WRITTEN BY MAUREEN GARVEY IN MEMORY OF ALL OF MY RELATIVES AND FRIENDS I LOST ALONG LIFES JOURNEY.

RADIANT WITHIN THE DARKNESS THERE IS A PLACE OF LIGHT-
WHERE MEMORIES ARE CHERISHED
WHERE JOYS ARE CELEBRATED, WHERE LOVE WILL ALWAYS DWELL.
EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE WE ARE FORTUNATE TO SHARE OUR LIVES
WITH SOMEONE SO SPECIAL,
AND KEEP A PART OF THAT PERSON WITHIN OUR HEARTS
AS WE CHERISH THOSE MEMORIES THAT WE ONCE SHARED
WE WONDER WHAT LIFE WOULD BE LIKE
IF THINGS WERE DIFFERENT HERE.
WE LIVE AND ACCEPT THOSE THINGS THAT WE CANNOT CHANGE,
FOR WE REALLY HAVE NO CHOICE,
AND SO WE HOLD THAT LOVE DEEP WITHIN OUR HEARTS.
FOR ME, I LOVE AND I GIVE
AND I HOPE TO RECIEVE AS I GO ON ANOTHER YEAR
MISSING THOSE WHO LOVED ME
FOR MY FATHER WHO TAUGHT ME
AND LOVED ME UNCONDITIONALLY,
AND GAVE HIS ALL AND LEFT SO EARLY.

This is Antonio's maternal grandfather, Joseph Riddle.

FOR MY GRANDFATHER'S WISDOM
AND THE STRENGTH HE GAVE TO ME
AND THE KNOWLEDGE HE PASSED TO HIS CHILDREN,
WAS SHARED WITH ME
I MISS THESE IMPORTANT MEN SO DEARLY.

This is Antonio's great grandfather, Laurence Day.

THEN CAME MY PRECIOUS BOY WHO I LOVE AND ALWAYS WILL LOVE,
AND MISS SO MUCH ESPECIALLY NOW

AND SO I WRITE THIS POEM
WITH THOUGHTS OF LOVE RIGHT FROM MY HEART
AND I HOPE AS I REMEMBER MY FATHER, GRANDFATHER
AND MY SON, MY MEMORIES OF JOY AND PEACE
WE CELEBRATE AT THIS TIME OF YEAR
WILL BE SHARED WITH OTHERS.
TO THEM I WISH A MERRY AND JOYOUS CHRISTMAS
AS THEY LIGHT THE SKY WITH THEIR ANGEL WINGS.

This is my beloved Mom who passed away recently. I miss her so much every day that goes by there is not a song that plays,
or a thought of a conversation we had, or a memory of our life that ever goes away. I just wanted to share this with those
who knew her and those who did not. She was the greatest mom any one could ever ask for in one life time.
I feel lucky that I had her; the sacrifices & the friendship we shared,
the memories will always be right here in my heart forever.

Love her daughter Maureen

If we had one lifetime wish,
One dream that could come true
We'd pray to God so hard
For yesterday and you.
They say memories are golden
Well, maybe that is true
But we never wanted memories,
We only wanted you.
If teardrops were a stairway
And heartaches a lane,
We'd walk a path to heaven
And bring you back again.
A thousand times we've needed you
A thousand times we cried......
If love could have saved you,
You would have never died

ANGELS MEET US COMING AND GOING
THEY CROSS OUR PATHS.
THEY WALK BY OUR SIDES.
THEY LEAD US AND FOLLOW US
AND RISE ABOVE US AND PAVE THE GROUND BENEATH US.
THEY DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO HELP US DO
THE THINGS THAT GOD HAS CALLED US TO DO.
ANGELS ARE EVERYDAY WONDERS.
THEY ARE REMINDERS TO US THAT LIFE IS NOT
JUST WHAT WE SEE AND TOUCH,
OR WHAT WE DEFINE OR EXPLAIN
LIFE IS ALSO INVISIBLE FRIENDS AND PROTECTORS
WHO STAND BY US TO THE END.

THE ROSE BEYOND THE WALL
NEAR A SHADY WALL A ROSE ONCE GREW, BUDDED AND BLOSSOMED
IN GOD'S FREE LIGHT, WATERED AND FED BY MORNING DEW,
SHEDDING ITS SWEETNESS DAY AND NIGHT.
AS IT GREW AND BLOSSOMED FAR AND TALL,
SLOWLY RISING TO LOFTIER HEIGHT,
IT CAME A CREVICE IN THE WALL
THROUGH WHICH THERE SHONE A BEAM OF LIGHT.
ONWARD IT CREPT WITH ADDED STRENGTH
WITH NEVER A THOUGHT OF FEAR OR PRIDE
IT FOLLOWED THE LIGHT THROUGH THE CREVICE'S LENGTH
THEN FOLDED ITSELF ON THE OTHERSIDE.
THE LIGHT, THE DEW, THE BROADENING VIEW WERE FOUND THE SAME
AS THEY WERE BEFORE
AND IT LOST ITSELF IN BEAUTIES NEW,
BREATHING ITS FRAGRANCE MORE AND MORE.
SHALL CLAIM DEATH CAUSE US TO GRIEVE AND MAKE OUR COURAGE FAINT AND FALL? NAY!
LET US FAITH AND HOPE RECEIVE-
THE ROSE STILL GROWS BEYOND THE WALL.
SCATTERING FRAGRANCE FOR ARTWIDE
JUST AS IT DID ON THE OTHER SIDE,
JUST AS IT WILL FOREVER MORE.

A TRAVELER COMING HOME
A TRAVELER VENTURED FORTH ONE DAY
UPON A LONG AND WINDING ROAD
WITH FAITH AND TRUST TO LEAD THE WAY,
WITH STRENGTH AND WILL TO BEAR HIS LOAD
AND AT A SLOW BUT STEADY PACE,
HE JOURNEYED ON FROM PLACE TO PLACE
AND GAINED SOME VALUE FROM EACH ONE
UNTIL AT LAST ONE QUIET NIGHT,
HE CLIMBED A HILL SOFT-ROUNDING CREST
AND SAW A FAR A SINGLE LIGHT THAT SEEMED TO PROMISE PEACE
AND REST AND FOLLOWING ITS GLOW,
HE CAME UPON THE HOUSE IN WHICH IT SHONE.
A VOICE INSIDE CALLED OUT HIS NAME
AND TOLD HIM HE WAS TRULY HOME.
NOW ALL OF US MUST TRAVEL, TOO....
LIKE HIS, OUR PATHS WIND SLOWLY ON
AND SURELY WHEN THE COURSE IS THROUGH,
A WELCOME COMFORT WAITS BEYOND.
MAY WE BWLIEVE THAT SWEET CONTENT
IS EARNED BY ALL THOSE MILES PASSED
AND NEVER DOUBT EACH TRAVELER'S MEANT.
TO REACH A LOVING HOME AT LAST.

These are the only photos i have of my dearest angel friend, Joel Powell.
She was a very special person in my life. She was killed in a car accident
on her way to work one morning.

I'll Be Home For Christmas
Performed by The Carpenters
I'm dreaming tonight
Of a place I love
Even more than I usually do
And although I know
It's a long road back
I promise you

I'll be home for Christmas
You can count on me
Please, have snow and mistletoe
And presents on the tree

Christmas Eve will find me
Where the lovelight gleams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams

I'll be home for Christmas
You can count on me
Please, have snow and mistletoe
And presents on the tree

Christmas Eve will find me
Where the lovelight gleams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams

Holidays In Heaven
The Holiday Season is just not the same,
A smile is missing when saying one name.
For parents who’ve lost a daughter or son,
Nothing can bring back the delightful fun,
Of watching them talk, laugh, or just run.
The memories are all that we do have now,
We do go on…..only God knows how.
A New Year comes as midnight arrives,
Our Angels still a big part of our lives.
If only we could trade the presents we receive,
For one more day with those whom we grieve!
But nothing can bring back our beloved child,
The one that laughed, cried, and often smiled.
They are together in a much better place,
Watching us cry…..touching our face!
Although we miss them on Holidays to share,
Be assured their loving presence fills the air,
At home, in church, at New York’s Times Square!
So celebrating the Holidays are now hard to do,
But always remember they are thinking of you too,
Wishing you happiness and showing their love,
Not on this Earth, but from Heaven above!
